The Convict is the Shieldbot Factory's constructor. It is equipped with a small shield, boosting its survivability and allowing for some useful protective tactics.

Strategy

The Convict’s shield is especially useful in the early game. It can keep a half-built turret safe from a pesky raider long enough for construction to finish. Marching them alongside Bandits creates a strong anti-turret push. Later in the game, packing a few Convicts into your shieldball adds extra shield regen to the army and lets the Convicts safely reclaim nearby wrecks.

Counters
  • Raiders can still pick off undefended Convicts, particularly if you micro them inside the shield radius.
  • Units with splash weapons (e.g. Ripper or Ogre) can deal minor damage through the Convict's shield.
